How to research meeting guests and post a daily Slack briefing with Zapier Agents
The problem
Before calls with external people someone has to look up who they are and what their company does, usually in a rush right before the meeting.
Tools needed
- Zapier Agents
- Google Calendar
- Slack
- Zapier's built-in web search
Step-by-step recipe
- Give the agent a daily schedule trigger (the source uses 6 AM).
- Add the Google Calendar Find Event tool to pull today's meetings.
- Instruct it to pick out external attendees and research each person and their company with web search.
- Add Slack Send Channel Message so it posts one summary paragraph per meeting.
- Test in preview mode, then switch it on.
Copyable prompt
Every weekday at [TIME]: find today's events in my calendar. For each attendee whose email domain is not [YOURDOMAIN.COM], research the person and their company on the web. Post one Slack message per meeting to #[CHANNEL]: meeting title and time, then 2-3 sentences per external attendee covering role, company and anything recent that is relevant to the meeting. If you can't find reliable information, say so instead of guessing.

What the builder reported
In testing, the agent found correct background on the author's CEO and CTO and posted it to Slack. No results from live runs were reported.
These are the source author's own claims. AgentRecipes has not tested or verified them.
Watch out for
- On the free plan, test runs are capped at 10 actions.
- The agent may ask for confirmations while testing but runs on its own once live.
